IAFF Alberta represents 5,000 professional Fire Fighters, Paramedics, and Dispatchers across 22 locals in Alberta and the Northwest Territories. Affiliated with the International Association of Fire Fighters, we advocate for the people who respond when it matters most, working to protect their wages, working conditions, health, and safety, while supporting the locals and communities they serve.

Formed in 1909, IAFF Alberta has represented frontline members for over a century. Each year, we hold our Legislative Conference and attend the IAFF's Canadian Legislative Conference, meeting directly with elected officials to advocate on the issues affecting our members and the public they protect, from Fire-Based EMS delivery to occupational cancer recognition and public safety in building codes.

IAFF Alberta is led by an Executive Board of elected and appointed officers, supported by dedicated coordinators overseeing bargaining, workers' compensation, and retirement security on behalf of our locals.

We proudly represent 22 locals across the province, from major urban centres to smaller communities where we help provide resources many locals couldn't otherwise sustain on their own.
